My dad takes on the Lower Gauley during Gauley Fest 2012. This stretch of river was
our goal to work up to throughout the year. He makes it down just fine with one wet exit which he later explained to me was as
a result of his back strap sliding under his butt and him not wanting to try to scoot back into the boat with a dangerous section
of undercut rocks approaching - so it was because of equipment failure with his boat outfitting. Aside from that mishap, he did
quite well. Just needs to work on keeping his head down when combat rolling. I missed out on this trip due to a sprained knee.
