First Timer Surfing a Deceptively Strong Pourover Using Hi-N-Dry Rolling Aid

I felt like this would be the perfect spot for my dad to attempt to do some surfing for the first time. Turned out that this pourover was deceptively strong and it was difficult to even paddle him out of it while he held onto my boat! I believe the reason for its power was the almost unnatural straightness of the shelf the water was pouring over which created a similar effect that a lowhead dam has - and these claim lives all the time. My dad was never in any real danger, but the power of it surprised him and scared him because it caught him off guard. Notice how the Hi-N-Dry keeps his head above the water and enables him to get air for the duration and he could even let go of the paddle with one hand to catch a throw rope if he needed to - all while keeping his head above water. This illustrates one of the many advantages that a Hi-N-Dry brings to the table.
